stop whining that the world isnt free. its not. deal with it.
dear apple,
please find a way to remove ALL 1 star reviews from people who are too stupid to read the descriptions of magazines before they download them and whine about feeling "deceived" and "ripped off" when they are asked to pay for them! of course the magazine isnt free. how would they stay in business and create worthwhile content? a grant from the government? hey think because they can steal music off the internet that everything in life should be free– created by hardworking people and provided at no cost for their casual amusement. right.
why does this matter? because people who actually read the descriptions on the App Store when they are thoughtfully shopping for apps want to be able to look at at the rating and believe that it at least somewhat reflects the usefulness and functionality of the app– does it perform well, have good content, have intuitive navigation, good support, etc.? the problem is, when spoiled morons give a magazine a rating of 1 star for no reason other than "its not free, mommy!" then the ratings become inaccurate and completely useless, hurting both the app maker and any consumer with a 5th grade intelligence or above.
sorry for the rant, but these clowns are all over App Store reviews, and are especially disruptive in the magazine section, where the apps are almost always free, and almost always require a payment or subscription... as most reasonable people would assume, and anyone should be able to figure out after downloading their first magazine.
suggestion: maybe you (apple) could make the communication about payment or subscription requirement more prominent on the app page, and not bury it in a paragraph somewhere. something that stands alone near the price button, or listed in the Information section, like "FREE app – payment or subscription required for content". make it beyond obvious for the people who dont get it.
